Holocaust Memorial Day – Letter from a survivor and news on upcoming visit

As part of Mrs Robertson’s S3 People in Society class we have been studying the Holocaust. During this topic we have covered Anti-Jewish laws, Anti-Semitism, a photo analysis task and an event where we read poems and lit candles to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day. One of our final tasks was to write a letter to a Holocaust survivor. One of our pupils, Sarah Middler, received a reply from her selected survivor, Harry Bibring. Harry is now booked to visit the school on the 24th of March 2014. On that day he will deliver his testimony of how he was affected by the Holocaust. We, as pupils of Kincorth Academy, are very proud to be welcoming a Holocaust survivor to the school.

Philip Mair, S3.
