Kincorth Under 13s looked to regroup after a tough game against Oldmachar in difficult conditions earlier in the week. Despite going 1-0 down in the 3rd minute, they responded well a minute later when Brandon Emslie showed some nice skill and pace to take it past a couple of Grammar midfielders, passing to Owen Bennett who then played Matthew Tough through in the box who coolly slotted the ball past the keeper to level the scores. On 10 minutes it was Kincorth who took the lead when Matthew passed it through to Mark Somers on the left, just inside the box, who struck it well, curving it round the keeper and into the bottom right corner, 2-1 Kincorth. Shortly before half-time, Grammar equalised. Grammar are a tough team and are undefeated this season and Kincorth looked like they might hold them to a draw and fought well with Keeper, Adam Whiffin, making a couple of crucial saves, and Adam Coull had a great game in the Kincorth defence, and was the coaches man of the match. It wasn’t to be as Grammar took the lead with ten minutes to go and then added to that tally with a fourth goal late on, Kincorth had a couple of chances late on, but the game finished 4-2 to Grammar. Coach, Mr Johnstone commended the team on their work rate, saying that everyone gave 100%, and it was needed to keep a tough Grammar team frustrated for most of the game. The boys will be playing Bucksburn next Thursday, and if they produce the same performance as they did on Thursday they can feel confident of a good result.
