WW1 Battlefields Trip – France & Belgium – Spaces available

With the commemoration of World War One taking place between 2014 and 2018, the school is planning a trip to France & Belgium for a tour of the World War One Battlefields from Thursday 30th March to Wednesday 5th April.

The trip will include visits to various memorials in Belgium and France, including the Flanders Field Museum, Hill 62 Sanctuary Wood, the Somme Museum. We will spend a day in Bruges with a cruise of the canal and a chance to buy some amazing Belgian chocolate. We have a day at Parc d’Asterix theme park and according to pupils who have experienced both this park and Disneyland Paris, the rides are as good if not better and that the queues are shorter! We will also spend a day in Paris where you will have the choice of which activity you would like to do on that day.

Transport is by coach with an overnight ferry from Hull-Zeebrugge.

The total cost for the trip is £600, this includes transport, all the visits during the trip and breakfast and dinners for the whole week (lunches are not included (except for Parc d’Asterix)). If the cost of the trip is an issue please contact Mr Clark for more information as there are funding opportunities available.

There is space for 40 pupils to attend and the first deposit of £100 will secure a place on the trip, first come, first served.

Cheques should be made payable to ‘Kincorth Academy’ and can be handed in to Mr Clark in the library, copies of consent forms are also available from the library.

If you have any questions about the trip, don’t hesitate to contact Mr Clark on 01224 859753 or email alclark@aberdeencity.gov.uk.
